Towards beam arrival

In September all the BEP quads were coupled into doublets, precisely aligned and doweled. In October the magnetic system was assembled at the booster hall and geodesicaly aligned. The vasuum system assembly started. In parallel the K-500 transfer channel was finished. The vacuum was obtained in the middle of December.

Magnetic measurements @ BEP are finished

All the magnetic elements of BEP storage ring (12 dipoles, 12 "large" + 12 "small" quads) are finally passed through magnetic measurements. The last portion of "small" D-quads was measured by rotating coils in july. The difference within each family of magnets as well as the deviation between exitation curves of different multipoles lies inside the capability of corrector coils.

K-500 assembly approaches to completion

Final part of K-500 e+e- beams transportation channel from new injection complex to VEPP-2000 complex is near to completion. In the BEP hall all K-500 magnetic elements are installed. The vacuum system assembly of the rising section is in progress.

Hiroshi Amano, Nobel Prize winner in physics for the blue light-emitting diodes (2014), visited VEPP-2000 collider during excursion over BINP facilities.

Booster BEP and transfer channels progress

First modified BEP "small" D-quad has been delivered from BINP workshop and immediately gone through magnetic measurements tests. The field-current dependence showed good accordance with predictions.
The assembling of lower part (in tunnel) of beams transfer channel K-500 from BINP Injection Complex is finished.

VEPP-2000 ring is finally assembled and ready for action

All modifications of VEPP-2000 storage ring itself are finished. These changes include: two new dipoles' vacuum chambers with additional inflectors; new mirrors for synchrotron radiation output for beam diagnostics; second screper near CMD-3; repair of solenoid with protective vacuum leakage. Vacuum system is assembled, RF cavity is baked. All magnetic elements are mounted and aligned. Storage ring is ready to accept beams except for the absence of transfer channels and disassembled booster synchrotron.

BEP-VEPP transfer channel assembling started

The assembling of BEP-VEPP2000 beam transfer channels started. First "long blue" dipoles of electron beam channel were mounted and aligned geodesically. Another work - magnetic measurements of 12 BEP F-quads - was finished. All magnets shown good accordance of the field distribution to the corresponding calculations results. The saturation curves also agree well with prediction.

BEP quadrupole magnets returns from workshops

   BEP quads began to return from BINP workshops. The magnetic measurements with rotating coils were started.
   All steering coils were finally installed into BEP dipoles. Dipoles are installed and aligned at the ring.
   CMD-3 detector has tested it's solenoid, magnetic field of 13 kGs was obtained. VEPP-2000 final focusing solenoids shifts were observed and measured.
